Dates and times of future events are accurate as of the most recent information available, and are always subject to change due to re-scheduling, conflicts, etc. Please be sure to verify dates and times before committing yourself - this usually can be done on the Wednesday night net. LICENSE EXAM TEST SESSIONS

There will be a license examination test session held immediately prior to the January, February, March, April & May membership meetings at the American Red Cross building, at 5:30 PM. Candidates and VEs should plan to arrive at 5:15 PM to get settled and prepared for the exam..

Anyone applying for a new license will need to bring a photo ID (drivers license, etc.), a ball point pen, and $15.00 examination fee. Exact change will be appreciated.

Anyone planning to upgrade their present license, will need also to bring their original and one photo copy of their amateur license, and the original and one photo copy of any non-expired CSCEs from a previous exam date. (Photo copies will be retained and sent to ARRL VEC).

To make an appointment, please contact in advance.

The testing session will be followed by our regular membership meeting at 7:00 PM. When you make plans for the testing session, you might like to join us at the meeting. It is open to all with an interest in Amateur Radio. You do not have to be a member to attend, nor do you have to have an amateur radio license to attend.

MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS

Regular monthly membership meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of every month (except as noted below), at 7:00 PM, at the American Red Cross building at 2610 Northbrooke Plaza Drive, Naples.  Everyone is welcome!  You do not have to be an ARASWF member to attend these meetings. All interested persons (and interesting persons) are invited!

There is no membership meeting in June, due to Field Day activities, and there are no meetings in July & August, due to summer recess. Also, the December meeting is replaced with the annual Christmas Party and Annual Meeting, usually held early in the month of December. Annual elections for Officers and Directors are held at the November meeting.

During 2013, the meeting dates are as follows:

January 22nd, 2013
Febuary 26th, 2013
March 26th, 2013
April 23rd, 2013
May 28th, 2013
June 22-23, 2103 - Field Day
September 24th, 2013
October 22nd, 2013
November 26th, 2013 - Election of 2014 Officers and Directors
December Christmas Party & Annual Meting - Date to be determined

FIELD DAY 2013 - JUNE 22 & 23

Field Day 2013 is coming!

Field Day:  To work as many stations as possible on any and all amateur bands (excluding the 60, 30, 17 and 12-meter bands) and to learn to operate in abnormal situations in less than optimal conditions.

Field day 2013 is right around the corner, always the fourth full weekend of June, beginning at 1800 UTC Saturday and running through 1800 UTC Sunday, June 22-23, 2013. This year's location will again be at Veteran's Park, off Immokalee Ropad in North Naples - same location as last year's Field Day.

It is not too early to plan for your participation in the Field Day activities.  Club members are needed to help set-up on Saturday, beginning at about 0800, and break-down on Sunday at about 1400. Field Day operations will begin on Saturday at 1400, and end 24 hours later, at 1400 on Sunday. Operators are needed both days and Saturday night for all the bands, SSB and CW.  Last year, only 21 club members participated or visited the site to lend moral support - let's do better in 2013.

Here is a map of the Field Day location.

PHOTOS WANTED!

Come on members...

It's time to include a photo of your home station, together with a brief description of your station and equipment, in the  "MEMBERS GALLERY" that is the first choice on the "PHOTOS" page of this web site.

So far, we have only 13 members whose stations are shown in the "Members Gallery", and we need all of you to be there.

Just take a photo of your station (hopefully with you included, but not necessary) with your digital camera, then prepare a few words about your station, and send them both to:  webmaster@araswf.org

Or, if you don't have a digital camera, then send a scan or copy of a photo print instead - we'll do the rest.

It's easy and it's fun, so no more excuses - send your photo and station info today.

So do what Uncle Webmaster (pictured above) says - he's looking forward to being able to publish your photo and write-up soon.
