Hams helping Hams – 2016-04-03
This is what the ARASWF is all about!
I would like to thank the following hams that helped with my antenna problems. K7DX/Mitch, KC8JCB/Larry, K4AOR/Rich, KM4QYL/Al, N4DSB/Dave.
They have done a great job in fixing my antenna issues. Dave and Larry did most of the tower work with the help of the manlift. They removed the TA-33 and placed it on two ladders to be worked on. It was decided to straighten the elements and tighten and clean some of the hardware. The other antenna that I had planned on using was a CL-36M but it was too big for my location.
Mitch came over after the antennas were back up and used his analyzer to check the SWR. The SWR was not acceptable and went up on the manlift to replace and make sure that all the hardware was tight. That made all the SWR acceptable on all the antennas.
After a short break after everyone had left, came the “on the air” tests. Contacts were made on all bands and antennas. It was a very successful “antenna party”.
I want to thank those hams that did the physical work and to those hams that provided the “do’s and don’ts information.
